Subject: RealNames and Microsoft
Steve,
I think Microsoft’s decision to no longer support RealNames key word search in Internet Explorer is a big mistake.
Keywords clearly have value to AOL and why Microsoft would pull the plug on the RealNames technology confuses me. I hope that Microsoft reconsiders its position in this matter. At F2F Group we were looking forward to leveraging the RealNames technology in our .Net offerings as a mechanism for delivering timely appropriate content via web services.
I look forward to hearing an announcement that Microsoft has re-embraced the RealNames technology and will continue to support the RealName redirection in Internet Explorer.
Best Regards,
Alex
